About document photos: the $125 and $175 base rates assume you text or email clear photos of your documents ahead of time so we can confirm everything is ready. Prefer to skip that step? On-site review adds $15. Payment by card is collected in advance to hold the appointment.
How Notary Fees Work in Texas
Two different fees, listed separately on every invoice.
Under Texas Government Code § 406.024, the notarial act itself is capped by the state: up to $10 for the first signature on an instrument and $1 for each additional signature on that same instrument. Separate documents are each their own act. Texas does not cap the travel and convenience fee a mobile notary charges to come to you.
That’s why your invoice shows two lines: the statutory notary act (for example, $10) and a separate travel/convenience fee. The flat $125 or $175 you see above is that total, posted up front so there are no surprises. Beginning January 1, 2026, Senate Bill 693 also requires Texas notaries to keep a journal with 10-year retention and to disclose the fee schedule before service — which is exactly what this page does.

Why does a mobile visit cost more than the $10 state notary fee?
The $10 is only the statutory notary act. A mobile visit also covers travel to you, scheduling, document review, and the convenience of not leaving your home or office — which Texas allows a notary to charge separately. Your invoice lists the act and the travel/convenience fee on their own lines, so you can see exactly what each part is.
What’s included in the $125 and $175 base prices?
Both include travel within the Irving core and your first notarial act. Residential is for homes and personal documents; business is for offices, signings, and situations with multiple signers, and it comes with an itemized invoice and priority scheduling. The base prices assume you send document photos in advance.
Do hospital or nursing-home visits cost extra?
Hospital and nursing-home visits start at $125, the residential base. Any normal modifiers — after-hours, same-day rush, or travel outside the Irving core — are added on top and posted before the visit. We’re used to facility check-in requirements and witness coordination.
What add-ons might change my total?
